Irene Salvo García

Irene Salvo García holds a PhD from the UAM and the ENS of Lyon with a thesis on the reception of Ovid in the General Estoria of Alfonso X. Her university teaching has been carried out without interruption since 2004 in France (ENS de Lyon, University of Nice) and in Spain (UAB, UAM). She is the author of 46 works published in English, French and Spanish in international journals such as Le Moyen Âge (De Boeck) or Medium Aevum (Oxford). She has directed a monograph on the General estoria and is currently co-directing two monographs on the reception of Latin authors in France and Spain. His research pertains to the history of Spanish literature and language especially, but also Latin and French. The main topics are the translation of Latin texts in works written between the 13th and 16th centuries, and the writing of history in Spain and France during the 13th to 15th centuries. The works ordered by King Alfonso X (1222¬1284) occupy a central place in his research. He currently directs the CAHIS project. Hispanic Canon.
